Hollie Taylor Of Good Company Interviews John O’Leary and Joel Courtney About Soul On Fire

A Film That Will Ignite Your Soul

The inspiring film “Soul on Fire” is now playing in theatres, telling the incredible true story of John O’Leary. Joel Courtney stars as O’Leary, with a supporting cast that includes William H. Macy and John Corbett.

The movie is based on O’Leary’s bestselling book, “On Fire.” It follows his miraculous recovery after a devastating childhood explosion burned 100% of his body. Fuelled by family, faith, and community, O’Leary’s journey highlights the power of human connection. Both O’Leary and Courtney emphasize the film’s core theme: that everyone is called to be a hero for others. Directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer), “Soul on Fire” shows how courage, love, and community can transform tragedy into a life of impact.

Hollie Taylor, host of Good Company, had the opportunity to speak with John O’Leary himself and Joel Courtney, who is portraying John on the big screen. John discussed the film’s creation, Joel shared what it’s like working alongside John, and John delivered an emotional and riveting speech about overcoming hardships.
